In Sarah's Words

Built by a psychologist,
for psychologists.

Hi I'm Sarah.

I've been working as a clinical psychologist for the past 15 years. I'm trained as a behavioral therapist, originally CBT - cognitive behavioral therapy - but as the years passed I found my way to Acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems and EMDR.

The thing is on the one hand I've always loved my job and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. On the other I must admit: it slowly but surely started to drain me. In my twenties I was still able to ignore this and to keep going. I kept organising my job like I saw my colleagues do it: 30 something hours of 1-1 therapy with clients and after that drown in admin. I thought that was just it and I needed to just suck it up.

It's only when covid hit (hah wasn't that a wake up call for a lot of us?) that I realized something: this wasn't the only way. Not only that, it wasn't even the most effective one!

Because if you ask me, self development is just like learning a language. In session work is not to be underestimated in its power, a bit like the speaking and listening part. It's essential. You won't learn any new language purely by yourself by thinking about it. You get yourself out there and immerse yourself in it, under the warm guidance of native speakers.

However! The journey doesn't end there. You'll never truely grasp the depth of any language by solely speaking and listening. On a surface level you might look very skilled but true depth requires a deeper practice. It requires further immersion in your own inner life aswel, a bit like the reading and writing part of learning a language.

Therapy is expensive, in the best case people can afford it once a week. For most it's once every two or three weeks. How fluent did you every become on a language by solely speaking and listening for one hour every couple of weeks?

You probably only became fluent once you exposed yourself to it regularly. This is all what Psyched is about. It's about immersing your clients in the most imortant language they'll ever learn: the language of Self.

This platform is built for psychologist and clients who resonate with this idea. Maybe they've been a therapist for quite some years (and/or in therapy for quite a few years!) and feel something is missing. Maybe they're new in the field but already sense something is missing.

You're right. The old paradigm doesn't suffice anymore for those who want to create true lasting changes for themselves and others.

If you ask me: this is the future of psychotherapy. With three core elements at the center:

  1. 1.The warmth of a real human connction
  2. 2.Available from anywhere
  3. 3.With technology working for us. Not against.

In a space where security & data protection are essential. Where all tools you want to bring into therapy are in one place. No more juggling between different platforms. No more trying to figure out where your clients data is not only safely stored but also easy to manage and actually useful for your clients progress.

Security & Confidentiality

Why security here is different.

Most platforms that handle sensitive data — your session notes, your client communications, your recorded materials — store that data on large commercial cloud servers run by companies like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. These are the same servers that power everything from online shopping to social media. They are convenient, but they are owned and operated by third parties. That means your data, and your clients' data, lives somewhere outside your control.

Psyched is built on the Internet Computer — a fundamentally different kind of infrastructure.

Your data doesn't live on a commercial cloud

No company — not Amazon, not Google, not even Psyched — has access to your clients' data. It lives on the Internet Computer, a global network that no single organisation controls. Your client records, session notes, and uploaded materials are stored there.

Video calls never pass through a third-party server

When a psychologist and client have a session on Psyched, the audio and video travel directly between their two devices — encrypted, peer-to-peer. No third party sits in the middle. No one else can intercept or record that call.

Access is mathematically controlled

On the Internet Computer, who can see what is enforced by code, not by policy. A client's file is only accessible to that client and their psychologist. There is no administrator at a cloud company who could pull your data. There is no breach that exposes one client's records to another.

Your practice data is isolated from every other practitioner

On a multi-practitioner platform, it matters not just that third parties cannot see your data — but that other practitioners cannot either. Every psychologist's clinical records are tied to their unique Internet Computer identity. No other practitioner on Psyched, and no Psyched administrator, can access your clients, sessions, or notes. This is enforced by code at the access control layer, not by a policy that could be changed.

Built for the therapeutic relationship

Every design decision is made with the psychologist-client relationship in mind. Clear flows, no noise, role-specific views, nothing that doesn't belong.

Always Reachable

Psyched runs entirely on the Internet Computer — a decentralised network with no single point of failure. Even if the main domain is unreachable, the app is always accessible directly via its canister address, completely independent of traditional web infrastructure.

Privacy means your data is only accessible to you and your client — no third parties, not even us. Security means your data is protected from interception and tampering by the Internet Computer's cryptographic access control. Psyched delivers both.

This matters in a clinical context. Confidentiality isn't just best practice in psychology — it's an ethical and legal obligation. The tools most psychologists use today were not built with that obligation in mind. Psyched was.
